With a menu filled with saucy, hickory-smoked, southern-style food, Shorty’s Bar-B-Q Restaurant has won more than a few awards in its 65 years of business. Named after owner and Georgia native E.L. “Shorty” Allen, Shorty’s Bar-B-Q’s original location featured family-style picnic tables and homemade barbeque sauce to please the masses. After a fire burned it down, Shorty rebuilt in 1974 in the same spot – a location that still stands today.
“We’re known for just about everything,” says Bayley Davis, Marketing and Sales Representative for Shorty’s Bar-B-Q. “You may think it’s all about the ribs, but the chicken, pulled pork, brisket and burgers are all very popular items. That’s just the meats – BBQ beans, coleslaw, corn on the cob- it’s hard to pick. Everyone has a favorite!”
